Mertolenga is a cattle breed from Portugal, one of thirteen registered Portuguese breeds (as of 2003), making up around 19 per cent of cattle in that country.〔Institut national de la recherche agronomique (2003): ''Animal research'', Volumes 52–53, EDP Sciences S.A.
